| Abstract: | Summary Exposure to M. S. 222 results in hyperglycemia in adult newts (Diemicytlus viridescens). A combination of higher anesthetic concentrations with reduced exposure periods reduces the magnitude of this form of stress response.This work was supported by National Research Council of Canada Grant No. A9753 to S.
