| Abstract: | The results gained from the computer imitation of the tectonic stressfield for the Qaidam Basin during the Himalayan times by the means ofthe analysis of finite element show the close relationship between theorigin of the folds within the basin and the boundary faulting of the basinand the structures of the basement. Except for controlling the spatialdsitribution of the folds, the stress field possesse the geological significanceto the migration and reservoir of oil-gas in the basin. |
