Translation and the Divergence of Languages and Cultures

Translation is not merely to convert one language into another,and it also involves converting one type of cultures into another,because a language is the carrier of a culture.In the practical translation,it is essential to fully understand the difference of the cultural background of the two concerned languages so as to solve various difficulties of translation.This article illustrates the effects of culture on a language in four aspects,as well as the difficulties of translating caused by the cultural differences of the two languages,English and Chinese.It also provides some ways of overcoming the difficulties.
