| Abstract: | After consulting the taxonomic and distributive material of Chinese earthworm, the authors report an addendum to the Chinese earthworm list according to the recent development of earthworm taxonomy. 1. All the found Chinese earthworms belong to 8 families and 25 genera. That is adding family Glossoscolecidae and genera Pontoscolex, Microscolex and Plutellus to Fong Xiao-yi's list (1985) in which 7 families and 22 genera have been included. In addition, the genera Metapheretima and Howascolex in Fong's list should been changed into genera Polypheretima and Ramiella. 2. Add 51 species or subspecies of Chinese Earthworms to Chen Yi's list (1956) and Zhen Zhong-ping's list (1982). The 51 species or subspecies belong to the following genera: Drawida 4 species; Microscolex 1 species; Polypheretima 1 species; Pithemera 1 species; Amynthas 27 species or subspecies; Metaphire 13 species or subspecies; Pontoscolex 1 species; Dendrobena 1 species; Eisenia 1 species; Octolasium 1 species. |
