Abstract:The arbitrary waveform synthesizer(AWS)is a highly intellgent computer-based signalsource that meets a variety of engineering test requirements. Three typical kinds of architec-ture of the AWS are proposed and the characteristics of each are analyzed. The constructionand working principles of the personal computer-based AWS are described and the importantaspects of the hardware design of the PC-based AWS are discussed at some length.
