南极长城站地区企鹅的种群数量与分布

１９９３－１１－１９９４－０３对南极长城站地区的企鹅种群的数量和分布进行了调查，共记录到６种企鹅即阿德利企鹅巴布亚全鹅，南级企鹅，长冠企鹅，王企鹅和帝企鹅。其中前３种企鹅在本地区繁殖，后３种企鹅为本地区鸟类分布的新记录。在长城站地区繁殖的企鹅总数约为１．１万只，繁殖成功率为１．３０－１．５７只／对。

POPULATION SIZE AND DISTRIBUTION OF PENGUINS ATCHINESE GREAT WALL STATION IN ANTARCTICA

Investigations on the population size and distribution of penguins were carriedout at the Great Wall Station and its surrounding arms in Antarctica in the austral summerof 1993-1994. Six species of penguins were recorded, e.g. Adelie penguin (Pygoscelis adeliae),Gentoo penguin (P. papua), Chinstrap penguin (P. antarctica), Macaroni penguin(Eudyptes chrysolophus), King penguin (Aptenodytes patagonicus) and Emperor penguin (A.forsteri). The first three species breed in the study areas, while the later three species are newrecords. Totally about 11 000 penguins bred in the summer of 1993 - 1994, the breding sucess was 1.30-1.52 chicks per breeding pair. Ardley Island is the most important bedingsite for penguins in the study areas. In recent 10 years, the population of Chinstrap penguinshad decreased drastically, probably due to the increase of human distUrbance (such as tourists,ships and adrifts).
