东方主义探究

通过对美国学者爱德华.塞义德的《东方学》的分析,剖析西方人的＂东方主义＂情结。指出东方主义在本体论和认知论的关系上是矛盾的,＂东方主义＂是西方人为了自己的利益而虚构的一整套关于东方的形象。在当今全球化的语境下,必须消解东西方二元对立的思想,才能建构新的和谐的东西方关系,为世界的和平作出贡献。

A Probe into Orientalism

This paper analyses the so-called eastern complex of the Westerners through probing into the book Orientalism written by Adward Said,who is a scholar from the United States.It points out that the ontology of Orientalism contradicts the epistemology of Orientalism.Orientalism is a made-up image created by westerns for their own sake.Against the globalization background,the world has to transcend the dualism of east and west in order to establish a harmonious human community and make contribution to the world peace.
