| 摘 要： | 采用先进的小波分析数学工具，对中国１９００年－１９９６年的强震活动情况进行了分析，研究结果认识，波波分析能很好地分离和描述不同尺度的扰动，它对序列的突变也很好地分辨。中国强震活动普通存在２－４ａ的短周期，在西北区和华北区还存在着１６ａ周期，预计２１世纪前半段强震活动偏弱。

| Abstract: | By means of advanced mathematical method severe earth qu akes in China from 1900 to 1996 are calculated. The results show that wavelet an alysis can correctly separate and describe disturbances on various scales, and s equential catastrophes can be well distinguished too. Generaly, short periods la st for 2~4 years for severe earthquakes in China. In northwest and north of Chin a it may last for 16 years. It is forecasted that severe earthquakes in China w ill be weak during the early 21th century. |
