中国戏剧对悲剧和喜剧不做截然的判分,多数喜剧剧本的构成要素以悲剧为主,只是在结局作喜剧处理。喜剧收束不能淡化全剧伤感压抑,悲剧结局也会有善恶果报的补偿。西方悲剧的主旨在于创造剧场气氛,所以它更多追求演剧的震撼效果,考问观众的价值观和审美取向,考验观众的心理承受力。中西戏剧的差异在于对文化的不同理解,中国文化崇尚“中和“,而西方文化追求“崇高“。

There is no clear and definite division between Chinese strategy and Chinese comedy.The dramatic elements of most Chinese comedies are tragic and only the ends of them are happy.The happy end can not reduce the feelings of grief and oppression of the whole drama and the tragic end will also make compensation for the audiences' feeling of "comeuppance".The main purpose of the Western drama is to create the atmosphere in theater,to pursue the heart-quaking performance,to examine the audiences' view of value and their aesthetic tendency,and to test their psychological bearing capacity.The difference between Chinese drama and the Western drama lies in the different understanding of culture.Chinese culture advocates "neutralization" while the Western culture pursues "sublimity".
