摘    要:ATM网络中的用法/网络参数控制(UPC/NPC)通过阻止有意或无意的用户滥用速率进入网络,以保护网络资源和其他用户的服务质量,因而是保证网络正常运行的重要手段,由于ATM网络为多种业务提供服务,而各种业务类型的特征和服务质量要求相关差很大,因此对ATM网络的UPC/NPC提出新的要求,提出了一种ATM网络多业务UPC/NPC结构模型,该模型适用于包括ABR在内的全部现有的ATM服务类型,由于要用

Abstract:Usage/network parameter control (UPC/NPC) is an important measure to guarantee ATM network performance. It can protect network resources and QoS of well behaved users by rejecting malicious as well as unintentional misbehaved user traffic. Since ATM network can provide various categories of service, and the traffic and QoS requirements of each category vary a lot, it is not sufficient to have a UPC/NPC that can only deal with one category of service. In this paper, a new UPC/NPC architecture for multiple service categories in ATM network is proposed, which supports all the existing service categories including CBR, VBR and ABR service. With uniform interface to all the services,it is simple to be implemented. Compatbility of the different ABR flow control schemes is also taken into consideration.The simulation results show that it is a simple yet effective architecture.
