| Abstract: | Madam Stael is a well-known woman writer and literary theorist at the turn of the 18th and 19th century of France. Her theory contains a fertile source of ideas on comparative literature. Her penetrating comparative researches, both synchronically and diachronically, on European literature her division and comparism of northern and southern literature profoundly influence the paradigm of comparative literature afterwards. |
