| Abstract: | After analyzing the characteristics of politics, economy and culture in ancient China, contrasting the similarities and differences between Chinese traditional mathematics and western mathematics, the paper points out that the important reason why Chinese traditional mathematics declined is that it had serious defect itself which restricted its development. |
