| Abstract: | The achievements of Northern Song Dynasty in collating the ancient works of medicine during are very compelling. For the first time, this paper makes comparison between the situation of Northern Song＇ s collation of ancient works of medicine and that of the dynasties before Northern Song. By this way, the achievements of Northern Song Dynasty stand out. The paper also probes into the main causes why it could obtain such outstanding achievements.
