翻译过程是在译入语中找出与原语对等的表达法的过程,确定两种语言中的表达法是否对等,必须对其进行对比分析.本文从对比语言学的角度来讨论英汉对比及其在英汉、汉英翻译中的应用,并从语音、词汇、语法等几个方面分析英汉两种语言的异同,为翻译实践提供理论基础.

Comparative Analysis and English-Chinese Translation

Translation is a process of finding in the target language expressions equivalent to those in the source language.To determine whether the expressions are equivalent, the translator must make a comparative analysis. This article is to discuss the contrast between Chinese language and English language from the viewpoints of the contrastive linguistics and its application to C/E or E/C translation ,and analyse the difference as well as the similarities between English and Chinese in various aspects of phonetics, vocabulary and grammar, thus providing a theoretical basis for translation practice.
