诗歌在大学英语词汇教学中的运用

摘    要:为了验证诗歌在英语词汇教学中的有效性,130名大一学生参加了本次词汇教学试验,被分为实验组和对照组。试验前两个组分别接受了词汇前测,以便了解其目标词项知识和英语语法知识。目标词项知识通过基于诗歌的词汇教学活动教给实验组,用传统的教学法教给对照组。之后进行了词汇后测,内容与前测并无区别,统计分析结果表明:实验组的学生前测与后测得分差异显著;实验组学生后测得分明显高于对照组学生,尽管两组学生在前测中并无显著差异。以上研究表明:把诗歌运用于大学英语词汇教学行之有效,且优于传统的词汇教学活动。

Abstract:This study has been conducted to investigate the effectiveness ot using poetry to teach1 cu,ege EFL vocabulary. Two groups of freshmen were selected, an experimental group and a control group. Totally 130 students participated in the study, half of them were in the experimental group and the other 65 were in the control group. Before the experiment, a pretest was applied to both of the groups to determine their knowledge of target vocabulary items and English grammar. These vocabulary i- tems were taught through poetry-based vocabulary teaching activities to the experimental group and through traditional activities to the control group. After the experiment, the same pretest was applied to both groups as a posttest. Results revealed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores of the experimental group. In addition, the experimental group had higher scores of posttest than control group, especially in terms of vocabulary knowledge, even though they were equal in the pretest. Based on these findings, it may be concluded that it is effective to use poetry-based vocabula- ry teaching activities instead of traditional ones in the EFL classrooms.
