| Abstract: | The specific features of the data, the timeliness, the permanence, the cruciality and the frequency of data access by the transactions as well as the types of transaction, namely, the data receiving transaction, data control transaction, data processing transaction and time characteristics in an active real time database system are discussed. The effects of the data features and transaction types on the placement of data and logs, and on the recovery of active real time database are analyzed. A rational placement strategy for the data and log is given. |
