重叠词的认知理据

摘    要:重叠是一种语法手段,是众语言中普遍存在的一种现象。英汉语言中的重叠形式和它所负载的意义之间的联系并不是任意的。文章首先运用Lakoff&Johnson的容器隐喻理论来分析重叠词结构和意义的认知推理过程,接着又运用数量相似性和接近相似性理论进一步阐述了重叠构词的认知机制,旨在揭示重叠词的认知理据。

Cognitive Motivation on Reduplicatives
Abstract:Reduplicatives are common in Chinese and English. They are featured with neat form , harmonious sound and vivid imagery, which strengthens the expressive force of the articles. If people use them in an appropriate way, they will arouse the reader's attention and sympathy. The relationship between reduplicativcs and their meaning is not arbitrary. This thesis , based on the container metaphor ,quantitative and proximity iconicity theory, aims to reveal the cognitive motivation for reduplicatives.
