On the Mission of Education and Professional Development of Teachers

This paper expounds the mission of education, analyzes the obstacle factors in the professional development of teachers, dis-cusses the idea that if teachers want to get good quality in professional growth, they must strengthen the sense of responsibility in impar-ting knowledge and educating students, pursue right life orientation and value orientation;master scientific mode of thinking, learn re-flection and transcendence;construct advanced educational concept and make teaching benefit teachers as well as students in inquiry learning;forge learning-type individuals, lay stress on the research leading and promote the professional growth steadily.
