| Abstract: | Based on field observations of geomorphic characteristics and structural mechanic featuress,and on the statistical analysis of main-stressdirections of the structural stress field,at the river valley basin ofLanzhou,this paper proposes that the river valley basin of Lanzhou isa double-side asymmetrical compress-shear faulted valley and that itscause is closely related with the compress-shear faults on both sides andith the features of the structural stress field.The above-mentionedfeatures of the basin are significant to the urban construction of Lanzhoucity. |
