从商标的功能谈汉语商标名的英译

摘    要:随着中国加入世贸组织,出口商品大量增加,人们更加认识到了商标名翻译的重大意义。本文从商标的功能谈起,认为商标名的英译可以以“功能等效”理论为依据,并依此探讨了几种常用的翻译方法与技巧。

Abstract:After China entered WTO, how to translate brand names has become more and more practical and significant. Therefore, through observing the functions of brand names, this paper proposes "functional equivalence" as the principle for translating Chinese brand names into English. And according to the principle, it also probes some methods and techniques for Chinese brand names translation.
