| Abstract: | The function of ancient academy lies in impartation and communication of knowledge, at the same time, the concept of Knowing How to Be is considered as the ultimate goal of educational idea. Knowing How to Be is to teach students how to be a man, to pursue perfect morality and to understand the truth of being a person, which has had profound influences on the education in China~ feudal society. The meaning of Knowing How to Be in modem society is deeper than that in traditional society. This paper discusses the influences of Knowing How to Be on moral education in colleges and the way of critical inheritance so as to explore the realistic guiding significance to modem higher education. |
