Design Method for Realizing Architectural Amiability

The design of single building exerts influence on the environmental quality of a city as a whole.Based on the analysis of classical examples and the buildings designed by the author,it is pointed out that the idea of moderation and simplicity is an orientation of value in Chinese traditional culture,the buildings in urban environment require the moderation and simplicity so as to respect the regional culture and environmental context.In order to create architectural amiability,the economical requirement of the design,the improvement of function and restriction in the form are indispensable.Thus the design can be optimized by reasonably integrating three elements including applicability,economy and esthetics,which accord with the current architectural development in China.
