Evaluation of Link in Communication Networks

Evaluation of link importance in communication networks is a problem in the reliability study of communication systems. It is significant in reality to evaluate link importance effectively. Firstly, the paper introduces an evaluation model applying to link importance evaluation.Then, the paper provides three evaluating methods: minimal size pathset-cutset method, reliability polynominal method and business loss quantity method. Finally the methods are compared each other to distinguish their goodness and an example is given to illustrate the application of these methods. The methods can apply to the design of communication networks and the improvement of network reliability.
