Abstract:The photoelectrochemical reduction of CO2 has been studied at a micro-crystalline p-SiC film electrode's in 0. 1 mol/l KHCO3. The onset potential of CO2 photoelec-trochemical reduction was -1.2V vs. SCE. CH3OH was the main product. The Faradaic efficiency of CH3OH was about 12. 9% at -1. 5 V vs. SCE,and the small quantities of CH4 and CO were also detected. The productivities for CH3OH and CO as the function of the applied potential and coulomb quantity for reduction have been determined.
