Abstract:Unlike “exploring reason inward” of the Confucianism, the Taoist philosophy represented by Lao Tzu and Chuang Tzu talks a lot of “the Tao of heaven”, and there are many discussions on the source of nature and the foundation of universe. Therefore, Taoist philosophy is unique in ancient Chinese philosophy, which forms abundant and profound natural philosophy concepts and thoughts, such as “Tao” “Plain” “Nothing” “Yin and Yang” and others. On this basis, Taoist philosophy has formed natural philosophy thoughts, such as the“Dao creates all things” concept of universe creation, the “Yin and Yang brings into harmony” view of natural operation, and the “Tao as one” view of world unity. These concepts and ideas are valued by modern physical sciences, especially quantum physics. Modern physics believes that they have unique insights on the origin of the universe and the nature of matter. In addition, these concepts have a certain degree of compatibility with modern physical science in terms of thinking. Inspired or compared by Taoist natural philosophy, quantum physics puts forward concepts such as “simpleness” “coordination” “unity” and other concepts that have important influences in modern physics, and constructs nature philosophy based on modern physics.
