| Abstract: | This paper compares the three major types of substitution in French and Chinese texts and finds that substitution is not an exclusive method of cohesion in French. Instead, there are also substitution types in the Chinese language. With the development of contrastive linguistics, grammaticalization, pragmatics and text linguistics, the contrast between the types of substitution in French and Chinese texts will be further carried out. |
