Abstract: | The Grammar-Translation Method dominant in English Teaching of the western region stresses the imparting of linguistic knowledge but ignores the development of linguistic competence and communicative competence, which produces deep negative effect on writing; The communicative Approach, based on the Task-based Language Teaching, stresses the development of students' overall ability in language use . Writing not only integrates listening, speaking and reading, but also unifies the qualities of language knowledge, affective needs, learning strategies ,cultural understanding and so on, which conforms to the trend of the times. |
