| Abstract: | Zhang Ailing has always assumed a unique position in the history of modem Chinese history. Her first novel, WEI LONG, receives full attention and wide acclaim after its publication. Its characters' language, arrangement of plots and narrator's voice all help interpreting human nature in the light of an analysis of irony. |
