Abstract: | The post_styrenation technological process has been optimized by comparing four styrenation technological routes. Based on basic alkyd resin, styrenated alkyds were synthesized by the graft copolymerization method. The effects of temperature, concentration of initiator (TBPB) and styrene (St) monomer on the copolymerization reaction rate have been investigated. Film properties of the conventional alkyd resin and styrene modified alkyd resin were compared, the results show that the styrene modified alkyd resin is superior in drying characteristics, hardness and resistance to water. |
