摘    要:给出了线偏振光通过具有二向色性λ/4波片后偏振特性的解析式。以一种典型的磁性液体实验数据为基础,借助计算机进行数值模拟,讨论了二向色性对λ/4磁性液体波片性能的影响。模拟结果显示,考虑λ/4磁性液体波片的二向色性在多数情况下是重要的和必要的。研究结论表明:磁性液体作为一种磁场诱导双折射和二向色性共存的材料,用在偏振光学中,有必要考虑其二向色性。

Abstract:An analytical expression is derived to characterize the polarization properties of the transmitted light of the quarter-wave plate bearing dichroism when the incident light is linearly polarized. The influence of the dichroism on the polarization properties of the quarter-wave plate made from a magnetic liquid is discussed by simulation based on the experimental data of a typical magnetic liquid. Simulation results indicate that it is important and indispensable to consider the effect of dichroism. As a kind of functional material simultaneously taking magnetic-field-induced dichroism and birefringence, it is necessary to consider the dichroism of a magnetic liquid for applications to polarization optics.
