| Abstract: | Preliminary observations have been carried out about the genesis anddevelopment of flower buds of Solanum melongena 1. cv Longicarpa inthis task. The results show that the sequence of development of flowerbuds is calyx, corolla, stamen and pistil. In the course of development of calyx and corolla, their bottomslinked to form calyx tube and corolla tube, and their tops separated toform calyx lobes and corolla lobes respectively. The calyx lobes andcorolla lobes are arranged alternately with each other. Stamen has fiveto seven alternipetalous primordia. The base of filament sticks on corollatube. Pistil has two to three carpellary superior ovaries. In the earlystage of development, carpellary primordia separated, gradually healed upand formed axile placenta. |
