区域地理学发展进程之简略回顾

本文以普雷斯顿·詹姆斯在《地理学思想史》中对地理学发展时期的划分为依据,简要回顾了区域地理学的发展进程,将其划分为描述、编篡为主的古典时期,描述、解释为主的近代时期和传统与创新复合的现代时期。对古典时期的回顾简介了斯特拉波、托勒密、B.瓦伦纽斯、A.von 洪堡和 C.李特尔对区域地理学的贡献;近代时期主要介绍这一时期区域地理理论和实践的发展;现代时期则着重论述其特色。

Brief Review of Development Course of Regional Geography

This paper briefly reviews the development course of regional geography,which,based onthe division of the development stages of geography put forward in A History of Geographical Ideas byPreston E.James,is divided into three stages:classical stage,modern stage and contemporary stage.Deseripition and compilation are the basic features of the classical stage,deseription and explanation arethe basic features of the modern stage,while the combination of tradition and new ideas is characteristicof the contemporary stage.In the paper,the introduction to the classical stage is focused on thecontributions to regional geography of strabo,Claudius Ptolemaeus,Bernhardus Varenius,Alexandervon Humboldt,and Carl Ritter,and the introduction to the modern stage on the development in theoryand practice of regional geography.The features of regional geography in the contemporary stage areexpounded emphatieally.
