屯田制是西汉时期出现的一种新的农业生产方式。它是由秦时更戍制、汉初的募民实边和北方的假田制演化、发展而来的一种新制度。居延汉简中反映出其时是军屯、民屯共存，军官、田官共管的管理形态。这种形态既有利于国家，也有利于民众。
