| 摘 要： | Themes are the fundamental and often universal ideas explored in a literary work.In this paper,themes,which are used in the old Man and the sea,will be discussed.First,the old man’s tragic features,such as failure,loneliness and conceit are analyzed.Then the connotations--death complex and humanity and nature are embodied in theme.These feathers are studied carefully to show the philosophical meaning of Hemingway’s novels in terms of death and the relationship between humanity and nature. |
