| Abstract: | A general definition of higher order variational sets is given. The interrelations between various types of higher order variational sets are discussed. Concrete representations of certain higher order variational sets are obtained, and some interesting examples presented. The results can be regarded as a natural higher order extension of the tangent cone theory. |
