古希腊哲学家柏拉图和中国古代哲学家庄子在审美观上有很大的相似性，他们都否定现实美，追求一种超越时空的绝对美、永恒美．但是，由于他们对当时现实态度的不同，以及本人在社会中所处地位的不同，形成了在达到这种永恒美的途径和方法上有很大的差异．充分显示了东西方哲学内涵的异同

Self of Beauty, Grand Beauty and Happiness of Heave

The ancient Greek philosopher Plato and the ancient Chinese philosopher Zhuangzi shared many similar points about aesthetics. Both of them denied the beauty of reality and were in pursuit of an absolute and immortal beauty which was beyond time and space.However,owing to their different social status as well as their different attitudes foward the situations in those days, they chose different means and methods by which they reached the immortal beauty. And this completely presents the defferent connotations between the Occidental philosophy and the Oriental phiosophy.
