| Abstract: | The paper focuses on task-based instruction（ TBI）, analyzing its elementary concept, designing principles and implementing steps. Then a practical example is given to illustrate the application of TBI to English teaching in higher vocational colleges. The role of the teachers and some key issues in application is discussed next. |
