正交网格优化法是求解柴油机优化问题的一种比较有效的方法。对这种优化方法进行了较详细的理论分析，给出了优化变量域的一种收缩方法和计算收敛准则。

Investigation on application of orthogonal network optimal method to performance optimization of diesel engines

As an effective algorithm for nondifferential optimization problems, Orthogonal Network Optimal Method (O.N.O.M) is creatively applied to the performance optimization of diesel engines. The practical applicability of O.N.O.M to engine performance optimization was analysed theoretically and detailedly. An alternative technique for how to consider optimal variable interval and convergent criterion were developed from computing experiments. In accordance with a high power diesel engine, as an example, the performance optimization was calcultated conditional on multi level optimal variables and single object by means of O.N.O.M. It was found that the suitable number of optimal variable level is 9 or 11 on the premise of computing precision and cost.
