Influncing Factors and Countermeasures of Rice Export Competitiveness for Vietnam

Vietnam has been recognized as one of the major rice exporting countries, and rice is now Vietnam＇s major agricultural exporting product. Facing the great competitive pressure from Thailand,India and China markets, whether the exporting competitiveness of Vietnamese rice is strong enough？ In this paper, international market share, trade competitiveness index and the revealed comparative advantage index are used to examine the changes of the competitiveness of Vietnam＇s rice exporting, and also for international comparison. The author also analyzed the price and non-price factors which influenced the competitiveness of Vietnam＇s rice export and put forward some measures to strengthen exporting competitiveness of Vietnamese rice.
