| Abstract: | The conducting polymers are quasi one-dimensional systems with wide band-width, but the SSH(Su-Schrieffer-Heeger) model is based on the tight bondingapproximation, which is good only for narrow band. In order to improve the theory,it is needed to consider the non-nearest neighbor hopping, which has been includedin this paper, and the energy spectrum and bond alternation are calculated. Conse-quently the spurious electron-hole symmetry in the spectrum is eliminated, and thetheoretical results agree with the experimental data. |
