Study on the Development of High-Speed Railway Station Area and the Influence on Zhengzhou

This paper provides a brief introduction to the development trend of high-speed railway in the world. In China, an age of high-speed railway is coming and Zhengzhou is faced with new opportunities and new challenges. According to the course of development in Zhengzhou, this essay summarizes the relationship between the evolution of the space layout and the railway. Then it analyses the influences of the high-speed railway on Zhengzhou and the surrounding areas. Finally, it gives some advices on the construction and development strategy of new Zhengzhou station that should pay attention to the construction of transfer systems, the exploitation of mixed function and the image of city to enhance the city＇s attraction.
