The Development of the CAI Software for Mechanical Design of X-Y Worktable

Mechanical design of X-Y worktable driven by step-motor is the project topic following the course "Mechanic System Design of Macaronis"that is the major course for the undergraduate students of the specialty of mechanical design and manufacture. The goal of the project is to enhance student's ability to design the transmission system and related configuration of a typical product. This paper presents a CAI software developed by authors for the course project,and describes thoroughly the functions,development motive,and the implementation methodology of the software. The article also points out the disadvantages of the conventional design process,and the benefits to teaching process with the software.
