| 摘 要： | 竺可桢认为以任务带动学科是一条科学发展的正确途径；理论科学或称基础科学是未来科学发展的泉源，我们要保证一定的发展规模，不能放弃；当科学从神学的奴婢的地位得到解放时，科学的个人英雄时代到来了，这也是本世纪“为科学而科学”的纯科学传统的渊源。但是新中国科学研究要走集体化、群众路线，科学院和高校应加强联系，以正确的态度对待群众经验。学术自由是科学健康发展的重要因素。
