This paper expounds upon the directions and ways of the cultural character pursuit of Chinese universities from the aspects of humanistic character, science character, cultural consciousness, innovation character, open and forgiving character, national spirit character, etc. It holds that Chinese universities should be the representation of Chinese new times and their pursuit for cultures should reflect the spiritual characteristics and advancing direction of the new times.
