从英语教育的社会服务职能看大学英语教学改革

本文从我国英语教育的社会服务职能角度,探讨语言知识与言语训练双层面并举的大学英语教学以及选用题材、体裁多样化的英语教学素材对提高学习者实用英语能力的作用。

Reform of College English Teaching: From the Perspective of the Social Function of English Teaching

The primary purpose of English education in China is to cultivate for the society qualified talents with good command of English. With the constant furthering of Chinas reform and opening up, especially after the entry into WTO, the demand from the society for talents with practical communicative abilities has seen great increase. On the other hand, the exam - oriented education in the past few decades has resulted in the situation that college students'practical abilities lag far behind of their examination abilities and the teaching effects of college English have little to do with real social demand. Therefore, it has become an urgent task to implement English teaching reform. This article, from the perspective of the social function of English teaching, explores how to enhance the learners'practical communicative abilities through the dual -level college English teaching approach integrating linguistic knowledge and language training as well as teaching materials of diversified subjects and literature forms.
