| Abstract: | On the basis of investigations, this paper points out the places and forms of the deformation and failure in vertical shafts due to underground mining in existence of safety pillars and analyses the major factors which cause the deformation and failure of shaft walls. It also presents some feasible measures to protect the vertical shafts. |
