| 摘 要： | 英语世界的粤剧研究，有三篇博士论文，分别是美国哈佛大学博士论文《粤剧的音乐》、美国匹兹堡大学博士论文《粤剧音乐中的即兴运用》和美国印第安那大学博士论文《广东傀儡戏：戏曲传统及其在中国宗教信仰体系中的角色》，此外，英国的Barbara E、Ward也有一篇专论。这些研究触及到了中国传统戏曲的许多根本问题，例如即兴创作和即兴发挥与应变，粤剧演出中例戏与选择性剧目的特点与功能，粤剧演出的社会与民俗宗教功能等方面，具有较高的学术价值，值得研究探讨。
