| Abstract: | This paper demonstrates the formulae for the availability of standby systems comprising two similar units. The effects of the mean time of preventive maintance and of preventive maintance on the systems availability are discussed in the paper. The paper presents the formulae of optimal preventive maintenance. At last, the normal availiability formulae for standby systems of similar units is proposed. |
