| Abstract: | In September, 1942 Hannes Alfven introduced the subject of Magnetohydrodynamics. He discussed the propagation of Magneto-hydrodynamic(MHD) waves in an incompressible liquid of infinite electrical conductivity. Herlofson suggested that MHD motions must be studied in different compressible fluids under magnetic fields. He was the first to discover that magneto-acoustic waves also propagated in a compressible fluid. |
