神圣疯子——从《圣经》视野解读西方文学系列论文之七

如果说,由于人对命运的抗拒、个人与社会的冲突、智者与庸众的斗争、理性与张狂的分离,世上一些人注定要被称之为疯子,那么,神圣疯子却是具有《圣经》传统的西方世界在圣与俗的对立中产生的一个独特文化现象和文学样态。《圣经》的先知以及与其有着一脉相承血缘关系的著名疯子堂吉诃德、白痴都属于神圣疯子。

Holy Madmen

Holy madmen come from the tension between holiness and sec-ularity in western Christian world. Holy madmen are characteristically showed by those who experience God's overwhelming presence, radiate righteousness, sincerity, compassion, and humility, yet have to put up with ridiculedness, persecution, suffering, and even death. The prophets and even Jesus of the Bible are the first manifestation of Holy madmen; later literary figures such as Don Quixote and Mishkin have the same spiritual root in the biblical tradition.
